Marsala Superiore Semisecco

Immediately accessible, the label of our ten-year-old Marsala Superiore Semisecco Riserva, Mille, tells a story that goes far beyond the wine itself. The name is a heartfelt tribute to Italian history, in which our historic estate played a role, faithfully depicted on the label through the use of precious gold foil.

Its majestic image is poetically reflected in the crystalline waters of the sea where Garibaldi’s legendary “Thousand” landed on May 11, 1860, in Marsala—an event that forever changed the destiny of Italy. Every detail of the label pays homage to that historic moment, when our Sicilian land became the stage for national unification.

With its golden-amber color enriched by coppery reflections—crystal clear and bright, a testament to its ten-year aging—the wine unveils a complex and enveloping bouquet, with notes of candied fruits such as apricot and peach, delicate hints of citrus, acacia honey, and subtle floral nuances.

On the palate, it is soft and well-balanced, with a perfectly harmonious residual sweetness. Elegant and refined, it is also ideal as an aperitif. Its semi-dry character and aromatic complexity make it the perfect companion for moments of conviviality.

Our historic estate, immortalized in gold foil on the label, is more than a symbol: it is the beating heart of a centuries-old tradition. Its walls witnessed the landing of Garibaldi’s Thousand, nurtured generations of master winemakers, safeguarded the secrets of traditional Sicilian winemaking, and were home to Diego Rallo, founder of the eponymous winery and the first Sicilian to produce Marsala.

A Sip of “Mille,” a Revolutionary Cry

Each bottle of Mille carries this legacy, this pride, and the passion of a land that helped shape Italy’s history. In every sip, the echo of that revolutionary cry resounds: “Long live Italy!”—a shout of freedom, unity, and hope that spread from Sicily across the peninsula.

This Marsala is more than just a wine: it is a piece of Italian history, a liquid tribute to the values of national unity, an eternal toast to those who believed in a united Italy.

The label

Low vine rows,
facing the wind, a liquid expanse—immense and sparkling.
Centuries of men, of technique and passion.
Snow-white salt hills
frame the horizon
of ripe grape clusters.
And there is waiting, there is patience.
This is Marsala.
