The First Rosé from Casa Rallo
Rosé holds a unique place in the world of wine: connected to reds through its grape varieties and a subtle presence of anthocyanins and tannins, yet sharing with whites their freshness, delicacy, and often their winemaking approach. It is a bridge between two seemingly distant worlds.
With Alba Rosea, we embraced this duality, crafting the very first rosé in the history of Casa Rallo.
A wine that reflects our contemporary vision of Sicilian elegance—fresh, vibrant, and immediately captivating. Made from 100% Perricone, it is bottled young in the spring following harvest to preserve its brightness and expressive character.
The choice of Perricone is intentional. Traditionally bold and assertive as a red, this ancient Sicilian variety reveals in rosé a lighter, more versatile personality, while retaining the strong identity that binds it to our land.
Its coral-pink hue recalls the glow of a Sicilian sunset. On the nose, it unfolds with notes of ripe wild berries, marasca cherry, and delicate floral accents reminiscent of Mediterranean scrub in bloom. On the palate, it is elegant and harmonious, marked by a mineral savoriness that balances its freshness. The texture is soft yet well-structured, leading to a pleasantly persistent finish of fruit and flowers.
At the table, Alba Rosea shows remarkable versatility. It is perfect as an aperitif, pairing effortlessly with raw seafood, grilled vegetables, and fresh cheeses. It complements white meats such as chicken and turkey, and finds an unexpectedly perfect partner in the timeless Margherita pizza.
A story of elegance, territory and passion
More than a wine, Alba Rosea is an invitation—to move beyond preconceptions, to discover the complexity hidden within simplicity, and to be surprised by a land, Western Sicily, that continually reinvents itself while staying true to its roots.
The Label
The inspiration for the name and image of Alba Rosea was born from a desire to capture something authentically pink within the vineyard—something beyond the familiar realm of flowers. The answer revealed itself in the sky. The sun, with its infinite shades, offered the truest muse.
It is the color of a new dawn, or perhaps the glow of the final hours of day—the fleeting, precious moment when light meets darkness, and the sky embraces the same coral-pink hue that defines our wine.
The label thus becomes a poetic tribute: to the beauty of the ephemeral, to a delicate shade that appears and vanishes in an instant—just as the experience of a fine rosé lingers gracefully before dissolving into memory.
